polaroid please.

Allow me to introduce my dear friend and colleague, Ann McGarry.
That's her below with the beautiful camera in her hands.
We are thrilled to introduce a creative collaboration of ours, Polaroid Please, a new and welcome addition to my wedding and portrait packages. All of the photos are created with vintage cameras, creating one-of-a-kind prints. She favors the Polaroid Land Camera, using Fuji film, but keeps her Polaroid Spectra close by her side. Ann worked her magic at a recent wedding with me and I am excited to share with you what she captured from the day. Please, take a look.

We had so much fun putting this delicate album together.
Thinking back to their wedding day, we personalized the album by
carefully choosing a color and style to match the theme of their celebration.
For those of you familiar with the black & white darkroom, seeing these prints holds a similar feeling for me as seeing an image being formed on that blank piece of paper. Cliché as it may sound, I can’t deny that there is a little magic there. There is something about the tangibility of the process and holding a print (and a story) in your hands. I get lost looking through my parents' and grandparents' old photographs and the nostalgia is palpable. With the influx of digital in today's world, I believe prints are easily disregarded. And, just like my love of sending handwritten letters, I refuse to let it die. I must confess, even I need to make more prints.  They are important. With that said, I am delighted to introduce Polaroid Please.

Thank you Ann for your gorgeous work and for diving into this creative endeavor with me.  I am grateful for your time, talent, hard work, creativity and collaborative spirit.
Also, thank you to Alyson for the top photo of Ann. See the polaroids Ann captured from Alyson's wedding on her lovely blog, Unruly Things.
Feel free to contact me at hello@kimikolbaphoto.com  for all of the details about this new addition.
(Click on the photos to view larger. I think they look nicer that way).

I am so thrilled to see this happening!
The idea of having such a unique square (or rectangle, really) of magic of your wedding day? Priceless. What you said about prints holds true and additionally you have that beautiful look and feel only Polaroid film creates.

Seeing you and Annie working together on this fills me with joy and envy at the same time - I wish I could work with you two! You are a pair that will have to be reckoned with and the combined creativity and soulful skills of you two can only produce one thing - magic*!
I wish you two the best success in this endeavour!

(*I totally watched two much "Sleepless In Seattle". So what.)
