billy + shireen: engaged!

Congrats to my brother Billy and his other half, Shireen on their engagement!
I'm over the moon with excitement for these laughing lovebirds.
She truly is the yin to his yang, and I'm so happy to welcome her to the family.
In celebration of their recent engagement, I wanted to share a few photos from this summer.
All my love to you two. Adventures await. xo, Kiddo

we are family: the filleys

My affection for the sunny southwest continues – with the wonderful Filley family. We had a fantastic time chasing the sun at the San Tan Mountains.
*Ruth, Justin, Kennedy, Beau and Cooper: It was so great to meet all of you. Thanks so much for thinking of me for your family photos, and hope to see you again among the San Tans.

the after-party: winner announced.

Hello and Happy Friday! It was such a treat to receive your emails, shout outs and kind words about the new card shop. Thank you so much for spreading the word and for your notes of support. It all means a great deal to me. Since this shop has to do with old-fashioned snail mail, I decided to pick the winner the old-fashioned way – right out of my cowboy hat.

Without further ado, congratulations to Amy Nieto! Amy, maker of pretty things, please feel free to contact me so you can pick out your favorite set of postcards. Thanks again to all of you for celebrating with me in March. Let’s get through these April showers and here’s to those sunny days ahead…
Have a lovely weekend.
Photo from one of the cards in my shop.  New designs to follow... Stay tuned.

hannah: green eyed girl.

Many of you know by now, I am quite content in a sun-drenched landscape, camera in hand. Add to that: two beautiful ladies to photograph, springtime in the southwest, warm sun and dreamy classic cars. Now that makes me happy.
* Shelly and Hannah, thank you for thinking of me for some photo fun. I had such a great time with you girls, and I hope to see you again under those Arizona skies.
* And, special thanks to Richard for the classic car goodness and warm welcome.
* PS: Shelly is a talented maker of things. Check it all out here.

saguaro, my old friend.

When gray skies hover overhead and the rain seems endless, I seek refuge in the southwest.
Saguaros stand in for Douglas firs, and the desert expanse in place of lush forests.
Big skies warm my bones, and wide open spaces nurture the soul.
Basking in that afternoon sun, I keep hoping it will follow me home.
